Terms of Use
Last updated: 2026-06-29
By installing or using the My Notes Chrome extension ("the App"), you agree to these terms.
The service
My Notes is a local-first note-taking extension. Your notes are stored on your own device and, if you enable sync, in a private app folder in your own Google Drive or Dropbox account. The App is provided as a tool you run; we do not host or have access to your content.
Acceptable use
- Use the App for lawful purposes only.
- Do not attempt to misuse, reverse the security of, or disrupt the App or the third-party services (Google Drive, Dropbox) it connects to on your behalf.
- Your use of Google Drive and Dropbox is also governed by their respective terms of service.
Your content
You own your notes and data. You are responsible for them, including keeping your own backups. The App provides local revision history and export, but you are responsible for safeguarding important content.
No warranty
The App is provided "as is", without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including but not limited to merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the App will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that data will never be lost. Sync depends on third-party services outside our control.
Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, the authors shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, or for any loss of data, arising out of or related to your use of the App.
Changes
These terms may be updated over time. Continued use after a change constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
